The devs' decision to forsake Opera's uniqueness and become another lemming Chrome-wannabe hit me hard, I assure you. SlimBoat Web Browser for Linux 64bit - download the latest version for Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 (32-bit and 64-bit). I say that with a heavy heart, since it had been my primary browser since version 3.62 back in 1999, and I'd been an Opera true believer and advocate, always steadfastly recommending the browser to techie and non-techie friends and family alike, up until a couple years ago with version 12+. Pale Moon or Slimboat have since taken over in seniority. These days it's more of a backup browser for minor net use for me, really. Obviously I don't use it for financial transactions or anything else sensitive anymore. I still like it, but it becomes more unstable with rendering websites cleanly and less secure every day. Describes me so accurately I'm feeling a little spooked.
Safe to say the bulk of the userbase are using the older versions until they arent usable anymore. Slower, not very customizable and larger footprint.
Niggles: From a long time user, Opera went downhill after they started to use new backend engine after 12.16. And I have gotten to a point where I am more or less satisfied with what I got out of Firefox. My main concern was mainly with the tabhandling, stacking, and the likes. With a bit of fiddeling and a selection of addons one can to a certain degree replicate some features of Opera in Firefox. hacen de Fake una herramienta potentsima.
